I’ve been around to see the Earth go around the Sun 22 times. 5 of those revolutions have been leap years. I made the Time Person of the Year once (2006), but it was this year (2019) that gave me a ‘why’.
- On a Spring Break road trip to the Palo Alto in April, a close circle of friends sat listening intently to my ideas on life and our place in it.
- Several months later, another friend going through a tough time, dined with me every week and found meaning in my reflections.
- Another friend explicitly encouraged me to start writing on this website, after a cold Berkeley evening spent discussing everything under the Moon.
- My Mom
I began to see meaning in each of these unconnected experiences. There is remarkable similarity in each of our experiences, and I often find myself reflecting about them. While there is no grand unified theory that weaves through my ideas, I find that they typically center around personal development, self-actualization, and a deeper meaning in today’s society. In that way, there may be classified as pseudo-random musings. If however, after a sustained reading, you (or a machine) is able to detect a unifying theme to my writings, then please get in touch with me.
However, what I did find in every circumstance, was an appreciation of the originality of my ideas and their power to lend a fresh perspective on life. I say this in all humility.
Through this Medium, I hope to share my thoughts with the widest audience possible to impact the greatest number of lives — starting with you.
